Listen to Never Dub Dry

Who is Johnny Lickshot? The Lickshots self-titled debut EP (2016) incorporates intensely arranged instrumentation over stony rub-a-dub riddims that call us back to Jamaica's golden age of rockers music. Narrated by the late emcee, Micro Don, each tune is introduced in proper dubplate style to accompany the listener on this future retro musical journey. The Run Away Riddim (2020) compilation details the Lickshots collaborative efforts with veteran vocalists Screechy Dan and Jah Bami. Both vocalists worked with the Lickshots to create their own unique versions which are included with the instrumental version for this release. Big Man Sound: Fatman Riddim Section Meets The Lickshots (2021) sees the Lickshots combine forces with another masterful Reggae collective. Fatman Riddim Section includes founding members of the world renowned Reggae group Inner Circle, whose roots run deep through the eras of Reggae music spanning over 40 years. This massive collaboration yields a most unique presentation of reimagined classic Reggae riddims. Pressure Gauge (2021), the Lickshots second release of 2021, is the companion record to their debut EP. With a score of all new original songs from the group, Pressure Gauge is as adventurous as it is traditional, featuring Nardo Ranks toasting the selections and the single "Run Away" featuring Screechy Dan; for which an animated video was released in tandem with the album.
