Glen Ricks is a soulful reggae vocalist whose career spans over five decades, blending roots reggae, lovers rock, and classic R&B with effortless authenticity. Born in Jamaica and raised partly in Canada, he emerged in 1969 as a member of The Fabulous Flames, recording the hit “Holly Holy / Kingston Town” with producer Clancy Eccles. After the group disbanded, Ricks launched a solo career, spending time in the U.S. where he connected with Donny Hathaway, shaping his signature soul-reggae fusion. He later signed with CBS Records Canada. Returning to Jamaica in the late 1980s, he worked with leading producers including King Jammy, Phillip Fatis Burrell and Bobby Digital Dixon, cementing his reputation as a standout lovers rock vocalist. His 2022 album Ghetto Boy, released via Liquidator Music, showcases his timeless baritone across classic reggae and soul-driven productions. Today, Glen Ricks continues to record and perform globally, with releases through Blue Pie Records USA and DJ Central Records, and publishing administered by Blue Pie Publishing USA (ASCAP).
