onism n. the frustration of being stuck in just one body, that inhabits only one place at a time. ONISM's approach to creating Drum & Bass music has earned him the respect and admiration of fans and fellow artists alike. He crafts his sound with love and dedication to the scenes foundations, and it shines through in every beat. ONISM's music is a blend of warm basslines, intricate melodies, and funk inspired beats. His intent with every track is to take the listener on an internal journey far away from their day to day monotony - to relieve the feeling of "onism". Inspired by artists such as High Contrast, Calibre, Technimatic, Logistics, S.P.Y. among others in D&B, as well as drawing influence from electronic acts further afield such as Chemical Brothers, Groove Armada, Thievery Corporation and Phaeleh. ONISM's influence extends beyond his local scene, though he remains rooted in his beginnings. His music resonates with people worldwide, and his recent works have branched globally with releases on Brazilian label DNBB Records (Empty Room EP) as well as LA based label Soul Deep Recordings (The Cave EP) and Bali's own Liquid Brilliants (Driftin' EP).
