Biography
Empirikal is one of the most exciting progressive psytrance duos of the last decade. Formed in 2013 by Nimrod Gorovich, also known as Gorovich, and Dekel Kamiosky, also known as Dekel, their unique sound and groundbreaking style blends new wave with progressive psy and uplifting psytrance. Growing up together in a small village in northern Israel, Nimrod and Dekel's music is inspired by authentic tribal beats, psychedelic experiences, nature, and most of all: The joy of creating music. Their sound is influenced by artists such as Simon Posford, Loud, Infected Mushroom, Psysex, Mamady Keïta and others. EMPIRIKAL's debut track "Dark Angel - Original Mix" was released in 2014 on a compilation by legendary psytrance label TIP Records and immediately caught the attention of the entire psychedelic scene. Their second track, "Good Q", was released in 2015 on Iboga Records, followed by their first EP "Psy Spy EP", also in 2015 on TIP Records. In 2016, Empirikal released two critically acclaimed singles, "G-Spot", also on TIP, and "Brain Worms" on the legendary Israeli label HOMmega. Performing non-stop at raves and parties, Nimrod's background as a composer and musician, combined with Dekel's experience as a DJ and producer, creates a rich musical style that is fun to listen to and makes the dance-floor go wild.
