Biography
Rapper Sean Price (aka Ruck) was one-half of revered Brooklyn-based duo Heltah Skeltah. After the duo's second album, Price experienced hard times but began appearing on various mixtapes and other albums as a solo artist using his birth name. Monkey Barz, Price's solo debut, was released in 2005 and named The Source's independent album of the year. His second solo album, 2007's Jesus Price Supastar, was received just as favorably. In 2011 he joined Black Milk and Guilty Simpson in Random Axe, who released a self-titled album later that year. Price's Mic Tyson, issued in 2012, also received favorable notice. Sadly, Price died in his sleep in 2015. The posthumous mixtape Songs in the Key of Price climbed the Billboard charts one month later. Imperius Rex followed in 2017. ~ Cyril Cordor
