Rita Marley, O.J., O.D.- legendary singer, humanitarian, and cultural icon whose voice helped shape the global sound of reggae - — began her musical journey in Kingston, Jamaica, as a member of The Soulettes, recording for Studio One in the early 1960s. There she met Bob Marley, beginning a lifelong partnership that blended love, music, and a mission of empowerment. As a founding member of The I Threes with Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt, Rita’s harmonies became the heartbeat of Bob Marley & The Wailers Her solo hits — including “One Draw,” “Who Feels It Knows It,” and “Harambe (Working Together)” — established her as one of reggae’s most powerful female voices. A mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cultural matriarch, Rita Marley nurtures the Marley family and mission into a generational legacy that continues to uplift and inspire the world.
