Biography
Emerging onto the Athens, GA scene out of two defunct bands, bassist Cameron Yohr (ex By The Sword) and guitarist Henry Mitchell III along with drummer Richard Mitchell (ex 1O Fingers Strong) joined up to create the Blackened Thrash Metal outfit known today as Beast Mode. With a heavy scene full of doom, sludge, and stoner metal, Yohr and the Mitchell brothers wanted to stand out from the norm and write the fastest and heaviest riffs to come out the Classic City. Shortly after the release of their debut album “Blood Moon” in 2016, which featured Parker Ford on vocals, entered lead guitarist Corey Flowers (Jet Engine Dragons) and the band's new technical writing direction began to take flight. Ford would soon leave the band and Flowers would take over as lead vocalist with the help of Mitchell and Yohr as they marched on as a high powered quartet. As the new direction of the band began to take shape, they would go through yet another line up change with Richard Mitchell stepping down from the drum throne. His replacement would be the current drummer for Control the Devastator and A Few Good Losers, Thrash “Guido” Adams. 2021’s EP release “Pound of Flesh” showcases the strength of the new lineup and is a preview of things to come as the band looks ahead to the next full length. The recording features updated versions of four staples of their live show, one brand new track, the eponymous “Pound of Flesh," and a classical guitar intro "...To Your Rest."
