Emudio

Biography

Emanuel “emudio” Schirmer is a German-born, Jamaica-based producer and engineer whose work bridges cultures and defines modern Dancehall. Originally from Stuttgart, Germany, emudio grew up surrounded by music — his mother, a classical musician, first introduced him to the cello before he moved on to drums and beat-making. While studying economics in Germany, his passion for sound led him to Jamaica, where he got the opportunity to work at Freddie McGregor's Big Ship Studio alongside Stephen 'Di Genius' McGregor — an experience that changed the course of his life. Now based in Kingston for over a decade, emudio has produced, engineered, and mixed for some of Dancehall’s biggest names, including Aidonia, Mavado, Alkaline, Busy Signal, Govana, Jada Kingdom, Jahmiel, Shenseea, and Popcaan. His breakthrough project, the “Genna Bounce Riddim,” featuring Aidonia’s hit single “Yeah Yeah,” became a defining moment in his career and a milestone in contemporary Dancehall. Blending global influences with authentic Jamaican sound, emudio continues to push the genre forward through Emudio Records. His mission: to make people feel the music — and help set high standards in the industry.
