Biography
An architect making organic downtempo collages. LECOURS is the surname and stage name of DJ and producer Pierre-Olivier. Meaning "the course", his name evokes the elusive mystery of existence taking its own course. As a non musician, his music consists of deep and vibrant collages of various instruments from around the globe, infused with his curiosity about the mysticism of his own existence. He calls this sub-genre of his own "deep-folk downtempo". In early 2022, he sold (almost) everything, quit his job as an architect, and traveled through Mexico and Central America for six months. He took a DJ controller and a laptop. As he moved from one community to another, often as an ecstatic dancer, sometimes as an ecstatic dance DJ, a kind of magic happened. He discovered new genres of music coming from the ancestral tribes. Powerful, liberating and healing music rooted in the history and elements of our homeland. He also participated in an immersive music production and sound healing residency with some of the world's best organic electronic producers and djs (Mose and J.Pool). More than two years later, on October 26, 2024, the day of his birthday, his first EP was released on Mose's label, Resueño.
