Biography
Nick Corredor is a 23-year-old Colombian American musician, bandleader, and producer from Long Island, New York. Coming from a family of musicians and record collectors, Corredor has built a unique artistic identity rooted in tradition while pushing boundaries across genres. His sound blends salsa, funk, soul, jazz, and reggae, making him one of the most versatile emerging artists on today’s scene. Corredor is the founder and bandleader of Conjunto La Herencia, a 10-piece salsa orchestra based in New York City. With a deep passion for the aggressive and raw energy of 1970s salsa dura, the group channels the spirit of legends such as Eddie Palmieri, Willie Colón, and the Fania All-Stars. Their performances capture the explosive rhythms, trombone-driven arrangements, and streetwise sabor that defined the golden era of salsa in New York. Alongside salsa, Corredor also leads Mecco Groove, a seven-piece funk and soul collective inspired by the 1970s groove scene. Blending jazz-oriented musicianship with raw funk energy, the project reflects his deep love for the era’s organic sound and dancefloor spirit. Expanding even further, Corredor’s creative path includes his original reggae project, where he has shared stages with international icons such as The Wailers, Barrington Levy, Steel Pulse, Collie Buddz, and more. Through his work in reggae, he continues to honor timeless traditions while bringing his own fresh voice to the genre.
