Biography
A tried and true crowd favorite and a verifiable turntable technician, Frank has spent the last 25 years spreading his love of bass heavy beats via his sub thumping DJ sets, his consistent work as a promoter and radio personality on the legendary House Nation. An artist whose career spans three generations of the rave movement, he has been a pillar of the scene since its earliest days. As a part of the legendary Ghostribe Krew he helped establish the dance music scene in San Francisco by spinning at and promoting some of the earliest massive events. As the crowds and the music changed, Frank continued to evolve alongside the scene as he helped guide a new generation of promoters in continuing the work that he had helped lay the foundation for. In 2016 he finally decided to push forward in to the realm of production. With half a lifetime of experience behind the decks, it was an easy transition to the role of producer. His debut album Separate the Real was released on Vibrance Recordings in 2018 . In early 2019, Frank’s Drum & Bass project “Forsaken Shadow” had multiple tracks signed by Los Angles based Vudeux Records. “The Gods of Voodoo” was the first track released from the project . Circling back to his origins and original moniker DJ Frank Nitty began to fuse elements of Techno, House and Breakbeat in his production.
