Biography
Javier Ortiz (Zitrovision) is a handpan player and producer originally from Puerto Rico and Florida, now based in Spain. His music blends ethereal world sounds, ecstatic percussion, jazz fusion, and healing meditation, often in collaboration with artists worldwide to create eclectic and deeply textured compositions. With his partner and co-creator Sealskin, the duo explores new sonic landscapes through handpan, world, and neo-soul influences. Zitrovision has collaborated with over 50 artists and recently released his deluxe double album Waves of Resonance — featuring bass, guitar, flutes, clarinet, saxophone, synth, vocals, and diverse handpan duos — all within just two years of beginning his handpan journey. In 2025, after a spring tour across Spain, Zitrovision has been sharing his music at handpan music festivals across Europe including the Swiss Handpan Festival, Pangonia Handpan Gathering, PanParadise, and Sound Sculpture Handpan Festival. Now, Zitrovision is also cultivating the handpan community in Costa Blanca, Spain. On October 11–12, 2025, he will host the first Costa Blanca Handpan Gathering, featuring some of Spain’s finest players — Mar Loi, Jordi Cantos, Amarok, Lewa, Denys Balykhin, Changeofcolours, and more.
