João Paulo Lanini

Biography

João Paulo Lanini is a Brazilian guitarist and composer. His authorial releases began in 2024 with the EP Ato and continue with a sequence of news tracks throughout this year. With 20 years of career, most of them as a sideman for various Brazilian artists, it was last year that he began promoting his work as a composer, with a musical production that approaches the neoclassical style. João’s music, at the same time, that is a product of the present moment, is also timeless and resonates with diverse people around the world. Nowadays, he’s heard in 90 countries. When João started with music, still as a boy, he was introduced to a way to see music that is still with him today: through deep listening. With this, before learning his guitar, the first step was always to listen carefully to the song to feel it and then perform it. As a result, making music to him became an intuitive and organic process, anchored in presence. A milestone in his career was the release, in 2014, of Alma das Andorinhas, album that pays tribute to Brazilian composer João Cabete. The record was co-produced by Nando Costa and Emmerson Nogueira and features collaborations with the pianist Guilherme Veroneze and the singer Denis Soares. Another highlight in his career is the creation of the arrangements and co-production of the album O Peso da Pele, of the Brazilian singer and composer Alessandra Crispin.
