Biography
Severa Christina is a Dutch singer-songwriter with Cape Verdean roots, whose love for music began in church. At 17, she joined Lusodance and recorded the timeless hit “Bo Soriso” with Vado Semedo — a classic that still resonates nearly two decades later. After stepping away from music to focus on school and motherhood, Severa made a powerful return with a viral cover of “Zeca nha Reinalda,” reigniting her passion and leading to collaborations with artists like Danilo Tavares and Lorenzo Jonathas. Her singles “She’s Africa” and “Unico” continue to play on Cape Verdean radio and TV. In 2022, Severa faced a difficult chapter marked by pregnancy and the loss of a close musical friend. That pain became her fuel to come back stronger. Embracing her Afro and Kizomba roots with a smooth R&B touch, she released “É Hoje,” “C’est toi? Mon amour,” “Inda N’sta li” and “Yelele.” In October 2025, she dropped a fresh Konpa-inspired remake of Usher & Alicia Keys’ “My Boo.” With her debut EP on the way, Severa Christina continues to share her story through soulful melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and an undeniable island rhythm.
