About Classical
Music's "Classical Period" lasted from around 1750 to 1830, when forms such as the concerto, sonata, and symphony became standardized. The term "Classical" now refers more broadly to any serious Western art music, usually performed by trained musicians in various ensembles such as orchestras or quartets, and often featuring development of musical themes across multiple movements.
