When I was 14 years old, I started writing graffiti and digging through local hip-hop records. At the time, I just thought the graff looked cool and the music sounded dope. I didn’t realize that I was becoming part of longstanding tradition from my San Francisco neighborhood. The culture meant so much because I saw it unfolding in front of me. The hood is hella gentrified now, the culture is fading, and life became about more than just rapping and tagging. But I never stopped creating. I tell the stories that keep pieces of that world alive. This is for the people who see themselves in those stories.
