Listen to Painting Wind (A Short Poem)

Aiko Takahashi is an ambient artist based between Görz (IT) and Nova Gorica (SI), where two cities and cultures merge into one continuum. Aiko is a musical entity that explores the space between sound and silence, material and memory. Blending felted piano, magnetic tape textures, and environmental recordings, Aiko crafts intimate soundscapes and the beauty of small details. Drawing inspiration from architecture, design, and the tactile world of crafted objects, each work behaves like a sonic artifact shaped by time. Takahashi’s compositions evoke the stillness of Japanese minimalism and the sensory poetry of European avant-garde traditions. Her releases have appeared on labels such as Handstitched*, IKKI, Laaps, and Noray, building a consistent body of work defined by space and texture. Through both sound and visual design, Aiko continues to explore how fragility can become form.
