About Artist
Desert Friends
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
Listening to Dick Dale's Miserlou, from the Pulp Fiction soundtrack when I was seven and not realizing that it would change my life forever.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Ennio Morricone, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly (Expanded Edition) [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack]
Radiohead, In Rainbows
Various Artists, Pulp Fiction (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
These albums shaped Desert Friends’ relationship with music as mood and story. Morricone’s wide cinematic spaces, Pulp Fiction’s surf-leaning cool, and In Rainbows’ emotional intimacy inform how we approach sound and songwriting.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Sonora”
Sonora was our first single and the first time Luke, Cody, and Antrom came together. Written with the desert around us, it marked the beginning of Desert Friends and set the tone for our sound, chemistry, and sense of place.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Playing the Joshua Tree Music Festival in October was a special moment for us—sharing our music in the desert, surrounded by community, friends, and artists we admire.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
We’re about to cross one off our list with our EP release show at Pappy & Harriet’s on April 23. Looking ahead, a European festival tour has always been a big dream for Desert Friends.
