About Rock
Rock and Roll developed in the United States in the 1950s, when artists including Little Richard, Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry combined elements of Rhythm and Blues with Country, and it quickly became a world-conquering phenomenon. Today, Rock is a catch-all term for any popular music with a driving backbeat and rebellious spirit built around electric bass, guitar and drums - often played quite loudly.
