About Artist

Liata Monatisa
Liata Monatisa
Liata Monatisa, a native of Qwa-Qwa in South Africa's Free State province, has established himself as a versatile and culturally-conscious musician, blending various genres to convey messages of healing, love, and unity. His musical journey began in 2016 with the release of his debut album, "Healing Africa." This album, predominantly jazz-oriented, delved into themes that resonate with the human experience, such as identity, love, and friendship. Notably, one of the album's tracks creatively fused Indian and African musical styles, celebrating the rich cultural and racial diversity of South Africa. This fusion showcased Liata's commitment to embracing and honoring different cultural influences through his music. In 2022, Liata Monatisa expanded his repertoire with the release of the house music single "Kelekopokopo." This track served as a homage to the ancient Sesotho traditions of courtship, showcasing Liata's pride in his cultural heritage while infusing it with contemporary house music elements. Continuing his exploration of different musical styles, in 2023 Liata collaborated with Zambian artist KazmatiQ on the afrobeat single "Lerato-leo." Translating to "That Love," this song exuded themes of love and passion, encouraging listeners to embrace love in all aspects of life. His latest offering, Mpulela features Nigerian sensation Moonlight Afriqa. Through his music, Liata Monatisa not only entertains but also educates and uplifts his audience.
