Biography
Swanks was born internationally, raised in Baltimore, and grew up in the SouthEnd of Tacoma in which he calls home. Swanks is best known for starting NW rap group ILLFIGHTYOU thus further influencing Lifestyle in the PNW. In 2013 Swanks moved to Los Angeles crossing paths w Dj Mustard, Dr. Dre + local artist’ NaNa and Alexander Spit. In 2018 Swanks and Uglyfrank released their highly favored studio project PHONETAP before he made his move back to Seattle to further his following. Since then, Swanks has released multiple singles and his recent body of work “GET A JOB” w Uglyfrank has shown and proven him to a be leader of rap in the PNW. Swanks sound is a mix of pure uncut lyricism over either haunting or slower melodic beats. The consistently pungent pronunciation in Swank’s delivery highlight his low tone flow and it fits and sits in the pockets of more paced bpms effortlessly. Those same qualities cater to his flow over production with an islander influence. As much as he has the tone of tenacity he’s the voice of vacation, it’s a calm within the storm kind of energy that’s captivating to the ear.
