Biography

I fell in love with pop music in the 80s and never looked back. 💖 I grew up in Manila in the decade of Trapper Keepers, Lisa Frank, and cassettes and CDs. Every song on the radio was a shared experience with millions of people you’ll never meet, and everyone knew the words to the chorus when it hit! Things were different back then in a lot of ways, and I’m glad we can access those memories vividly thanks to the internet. Just think: We have all the music from those decades at our fingertips along with glimpses of all the cool tech we grew up with (especially the ones we only ever saw on TV or the back of comics and magazine ads!). There was just something about that time you and I grew up in. We were still in touch with those memories in our 20s. Then things start to fade in our 30s, and sometimes you have to consciously remind yourself you were young once. But I believe we carry all parts of ourselves throughout our lives, in every season of life we encounter. We just forget that we do. I’ve spent the last 30+ years of my life figuring out how to remind myself and my generation that our best days are always with us, and that there are still best days to come. I learned that I’m able to do this through music. This is when I learned that this was my life’s work. I just want to share something that people can feel, on and off the dancefloor!
